NIGERIAN CHOIR BREAKS GUINESS  WORLD RECORD

The Akwa Ibom State choir group has broken the world record for the largest number of Christmas carol singers in the world. The record, which has been officially certified by the Guinness World Records and pasted on its website, www.guinessworldrecords.com, was broken by the unity choir, a 25,272 man-choral group, in a concert in the Uyo Township Stadium on Saturday, December 13, 2014 with Guinness World Records representatives in attendance.

 The new record beats the former one which recorded 15,674 carol singers, in December, 2013 by a group known as CENTI in Bogota, Columbia.


LAGOS SOCIALITE ADUNNI DIED OF HEART RELATED ILLNESS

Lagos socialite, ADUNNI BANKOLE, has died of heart-related illness according to reports.

 Mrs. Adunni Bankole was one of the wives of businessman and politician, CHIEF ALANI BANKOLE, making her the step-mother of the former Speaker of the House of Representatives, DIMEJI BANKOLE.

 According to PUNCH, dunni Bankole, who is the IYALODE OF GBAGURA, died in her mothers house in Mende area of Maryland in Lagos on Saturday, January 3 after five days in coma.

 Adunni Bankole was said to have been ill for over a month under medical attention and about to give her second daughter, Mopelola, out in marriage on the day she died.

 Her death didn't however stop the wedding from going on.

 Adunni was a socialite and a businesswoman and had once operated a household care product store, SUBLIME GROUP, at Opebi, Ikeja in Lagos, before moving it to Ogba Retail market.


 She is survived by her husband, Chief Flanmi Bankole, the four children she had for himToyin, Mopelola, Layiwola jnr, and Adesola and her 79 year-old mother.
